- About:
Walking Relic was a miracle. Walking Relic shouldn't have never been born. By small chance a little over 6 years ago Jessie Jennings moved to the tiny town of Noble, Oklahoma after her parents unfortunately passed away while she was living in Washington. While in High School in Noble, she met Guitarist Chris Schat through a friend. They started playing together, along with classmate Ben Lewis, in the spring of 2007 and at that time called themselves Requiesce. The small time band continued this off and on up until that next year when Jessie graduated.
In the fall of 2008 Jessie and Chris started jamming together again, exchanging songs and messing around with some music with drummer Derek Mehl. They decided to enter some songwriting competitions late that fall after Chris was hospitalized for kidney failure for three weeks. It wasn't until January 2009 that Walking Relic was born, the change of name representing a new outlook and progress of their music. The band went through two lead guitarist, one bass player and seven gigs in four months until Caleb Sloan joined the band as the permanent bass player. The band is now in the process of recording their debut E.P. at Trent-bell studios.
